Digital Coupons

Lately it seems like every store that I go in has the advertisements for coupons with them, and most you have to go to the website and create an account (you know the drill).  I was standing in the Family Dollar Store, not wanting to go 10 minutes into the next town to get drinks, and there is a coupon for them right there... However, I have to text this code to get it and when I do I get a link to the website because I had not signed up!  UGH (lol)

Then I see an app advertised on TV over the next few day and decided to try it out... I fell in LOVE!!  FLIPP.. I'm sure you've seen it by now, but just in case you haven't I'll tell you a little about it!  It took me a minute to figure out most of what it has to offer me, but I have only had it for about a week and I really love it!!

Flipp has most of my local stores sales papers for me to view and make my grocery list as well.  It allows me to link my coupons to my store cards (not sure how that works until I try using it at the store). It also sends me notifications when things on my list are on sale. Having the sales papers allows me to see what is on sale where and clip multiple coupons all at the same time.  I really like it and I believe it will help me save money, which is ALWAYS a plus!!!

You can get the Flipp app in your app store on your phone or view it online as well.  Like I said, I've only had it for about a week, but I think it will be something that I continue to use for a while... Especially when the Holiday Season comes around!!  It will be nice to see where all the sales are in my area (especially on Black Friday) and get the best deals!!!

Coupons & Saving Money

Come join me, I am about to learn how to save money on groceries and that is something that we all could take advantage of.  In North Carolina we have The Piggly Wiggly which is a small town grocery store that offers all kinds of sales and promotions. Another favorite grocery store is Harris Teeter. At this grocery store they offer their VIC card which will have savings already on it and you can use that with your coupons. This store allows you to use up to 20 coupons per visit in one day. Read the link below to find out what their coupon policy is.

The next major grocery store in North Carolina is Food Lion. There coupon policy isn't as strict as Piggly Wiggly or Harris Teeter but they do accept internet coupons but no coupons on phones or tablets. Read their policy below.

Is it Worth It?

We all need to find new ways to save money.  Right?  I know I could!!!

Extreme Couponing is a popular television show on TLC, but Is it really worth all the time and effort spent doing it!? One lady's daughter told her it wasn't worth it on a show today lol.

We sat and watched 3 or 4 shows back to back.. it must have been a marathon. (lol)  It really amazed me how much money these people were saving!  This one lady had a total of  $1024.00 in groceries and only paid like $12.00 after all of her coupons... I was like WOWWWWWWW!!!  BUT... she had SO MUCH stuff!!

My husband jokingly/semi seriously said "I should start Couponing."  NOT!!  I mean, I see the benefits of saving money, but who has the room for the stock-piles? I know I don't!  I would like to start saving some at the grocery store, but I could not buy the bulk of merchandise that the people on the show do because I barely have room to store weekly groceries now.

However, I do need to start saving at the grocery store, things are getting so expensive!!  I figure I would start saving some coupons out of the newspaper for things I normally purchase and that would be a great start.  Who doesn't like saving a little money here and there!
