I was sitting in the dentist office this afternoon and something out of the blue happened; and I don't know what to make of it!!
I have had the worse toothache for 3 or 4 days now. Last night it had a heart-beat of it own and this morning it wasn't much better; so, I called the dentist office when they opened to see if there was any way they could see me after work... and luckily they could :).
As I am sitting in the office waiting this gentlemen comes in and sits down across from me. He doesn't really speak, he talks on his phone, and all I notice is that he has VERY colorful socks and thick RED laces in his dress shoes. Not long goes by and I am called to the back to be seen.
When I got done, I had to sit down for just a minute before I could check out and he was still sitting there....
Out of the blue, he looks at me and says, "Can I ask you something? Hopefully it won't bother you." Curious, but skeptical, I said "Yes".
He asks, "Are you a Mother?" I replied, "Yes". He said "Do you have 2 or 3 kids?" So, I reply, "2". He then asks me, "Does one of your children's names start with the letter K?"
At that moment I was a little dumb-founded because my youngest daughter's name does start with a K; and I'm looking at him wondering if I know him from somewhere or something. So, I reply, "Yes, one does".
Then he says to me, "I just want you to know that she is going to be Okay!"
I paused for a second.. wondering where this came from and how he knew she was a she because I never said if I my child was a boy or a girl.
Then he goes on to tell me that he is a Pastor and that sometimes the Lord speaks to him, and he just wanted me to know that everything was going to be okay with her!!
I thanked him as the receptionist called me to check out; and wished him a good day as I left.
When I got to my car I wondered how he knew I had a daughter and how he knew that I worry about her so much with all her struggles in school & things that are going on!? I have never had anything happen to me like this; and coming from a complete stranger.. it was so unreal.
I called a friend and was telling her what had happened and she said it was amazing, even though I found it to be a little bit weird in that moment, I also thought it was somewhat amazing as well!
Tonight as I still have it on my mind, I wonder how he knew... and was this really something that the Lord spoke to him on!? If not, how could he have know!? I'm not saying I don't believe him, but I really am at a loss on what to think about it all!! Overall, I want to believe that this was the Lord's way of letting me know that everything will work out and she will be okay, and to ease my mind over it all!
Have you ever had anything like this happen to you? If so, How did you feel afterwards... were you as confused as I am? If not, Do you believe that messages can come from a total stranger like this? I'd really like to know what you all think and what experiences (if any) that you have had!!
